Makins Concrete Company was organized and incorporated by Hugh Smith.

Rick Metheny joined Makins Concrete Company, and learned the business alongside Hugh Smith.

Rick and Connie Metheny purchased two plants and twelve trucks, and founded Metheny Concrete Products, Inc. with 25 employees.

Metheny Concrete grew to 135 employees, 70 ready-mix trucks, 10 haul trucks, and 7 concrete plants.

Matt (Joined in 2009): Matt’s dedication and leadership since 2009 have been instrumental in driving growth and fostering strong relationships within the industry.

Innovative Concrete Solutions was founded by the Metheny family, specializing in post-tension foundations and floors.

Innovative Construction Services, LLC is established, focusing on concrete and other interior construction trades.

Charles Makins pioneered the Oklahoma City ready-mix concrete industry with 1930s, introducing the first ready-mix concrete truck.

Following the unexpected passing of Charles Makins, Hugh Smith graciously took over management of the asphalt and ready-mix operations.

The company survived the tough recession period, guided by their scriptural motto from Luke 16:10-11, 13.

Steven (Joined in 2007): Since joining the company in 2007, Steven has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of Metheny, bringing innovative strategies and a steadfast commitment to excellence in the ready-mix business.

Brent (Joined in 2010): Joining the team in 2010, Brent has contributed significantly to Metheny’s expansion and its continued reputation for delivering quality and reliability.

The business optimized operations to three plants, plus a portable plant, and 30+ ready-mix trucks. The precast operation sold.

Metheny Concrete contributed to major projects including Bricktown Ballpark, OKC Thunder’s practice facilities, Wal-Mart Supercenters, Home Depot, Super Target stores, Interstate 40 reconstruction, and Interstate 235 construction.

Present

Metheny Concrete continually improves operations with advanced technology, including computerized batching and GPS tracking, ensuring exceptional customer service and quality.
