Fiber Reinforcement

Concrete containing fibrous material increases its structural integrity.  Fibers include steel, synthetic, and natural fibers.  Within these different fibers the character of fiber reinforced concrete changes with varying mixes, fiber materials, distribution, orientation and density.  Fibers are used in concrete to control cracking due to shrinkage and also reduce the use of rebar and wire mesh reinforcement.
